Photo Shoot with Shalem Matthews and Molly Hutchings
I started my day bright and early this morning for my photo shoot with Shalem and Molly. They were so fantastic to work with and made the entire day go by so fast. I can not wait to see the rest of the photos and work with them more!!
Gianna, love your platform, and would love to know more about what you're doing on it! As mom to 2 Marines and M-I-Love to a soldier (& mama to a daughter who will soon see her husband off to war again), I AMEN your words! Semper Fi, Laura
Dear Laura, My heart goes out to you and we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Right now I am working with the ASYMCA and the Friends of the Guard and Reserve . And I also work for the National Guard. In the last 4 years, I have worked on getting the new PFHRA face to face, lobbying all the way from the JCOS to our local level. Iam working with the National Military Families Association to promote Troop Tube and The Year of The Military Family. Every 2nd weekend and last Friday of the month I help host an educational and also a fun event for the Families of our Troops at the Armory. I have dedicated every fight I have to taking care of all of us since I married into the Military and I truly believe we have to do better at not only taking care of ourselves while our loved ones are gone but taking care of each other. If your in Anchorage tonight is our movie night at the armory 6-9 , we provide the pizza and popcorn!!
It is my honor to be the current reigning Mrs. Alaska International and represent the State of Alaska . I have a strong and genuine sense of patriotism which is what pushes me to advocate for our military families and ensure they have the proper tools needed to survive while their loved one is deployed. I believe that in this life, it is who you have touched and what you have given back to the world that matters. Military families endure sleepless nights and the daily struggle of maintaining a home and taking on the responsibilities and roles that would normally be shared by both in a marriage. They have added stress and yet remain strong.I believe we have a responsibility to our military families to ensure they have the support they need, not only during deployment but prior to and after. They need someplace where they can turn to others who have lived through the same experiences, where they know others are working hard to improve the quality of life for Soldiers and their families. For me, it is a mission of heart and sole to ensure that every soldier and their families never feel like they are standing alone and the freedom they fight for is not fought in vain.
